City of Eden Prairie Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan

Walking and biking connections tie into the city's existing and proposed destinations and assets.

CDG worked in close collaboration with Eden Prairie staff and residents to develop the City of Eden Prairie’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan. Deeply informed by an active living perspective, the plan responds to the city’s existing trail assets and to the planned implementation of the Southwest LRT/Green Line Extension, which includes five planned stations within the city.

CDG’s detailed walking and biking network recommendations were informed by engagement of Eden Prairie residents, and combined public comments, site visits, guidance from city staff, and network analysis to develop useful and cost-effective recommendations for the city.

The plan includes recommendations to improve safety, connectivity and comfort for users of the city's pedestrian and bicycle network, and to extend walking and biking connectivity and access by developing needed connections to community assets and offering improved access to the planned Southwest LRT stations. In addition, the plan offers a range of policy and programming approaches, and guidance for implementation.

The plan was vetted through an extensive process of community and partner review, and was adopted by the Eden Prairie City Council at its meeting of December 2, 2014.
