Community Engagement for Hennepin Avenue Redesign

Working on ideas for the future of Hennepin Avenue at the January 2017 Open House.

CDG designed and facilitated community engagement activities for the City of Minneapolis project to redesign Hennepin Avenue from Lake Street West to 36th Street West. The purpose of the engagement events was to inform the public about the project scope and schedule, seek ideas on the future of the corridor, and let the public know how to stay engaged with the project.

CDG’s tasks included designing and facilitating the public engagement open houses, developing interactive public engagement activities, and developing online surveys for distribution through social media, community partners, and the Public Works website.

The open houses provided multi-level engagement to a broad spectrum of community members, using hands-on activities that were instructional and yielded rich feedback.
