Community Design Group (CDG) is seeking an experienced, capable, responsible and dynamic Landscape Architect to develop and lead our Landscape Architecture practice and to work closely with the Director to manage the firm's operations.
The Operations Manager will work closely and collaboratively with CDG's staff of Urban Designers, Planners, Engineers and other staff to develop highest quality deliverables and ensure client satisfaction. The Operations Manager will manage and assign work, provide guidance and quality control, mentor and develop staff, develop CDG's Landscape Architecture practice, and support the firm's marketing efforts for the continued and sustainable growth of the firm.
The Operations Manager will share responsibility for the firm's operations and strategic direction with the Director, including all phases of project development, business market orientation and development, personnel hiring and development, and long-range planning.
Our ideal candidate is a Licensed Landscape Architect with 8+ years of experience (preferably in a consulting environment), with a proven track record of effective management and motivation of a multi-disciplinary team. Skills in working with others, multi-tasking, project management, communication, collaboration, and excellent writing are a must. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working hand-in-hand with communities to create lasting improvement and has personal and professional interest in urban design, pedestrian and bicycle planning, and public involvement.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will:
- Assist and advise the Director in managing the firm's operations and strategic direction, including all phases of project development, business market orientation and development, personnel hiring and development, and long-range planning
- Develop CDG's Landscape Architecture practice
- Provide oversight, management and guidance for company projects from business development (proposals, project budgets, and marketing materials) to project development (client interactions, research, site visits, concepts and design, engagement, preparation of deliverables, quality control)
- Manage the work of multidisciplinary project teams, including managing QA/QC processes for highest quality deliverables
- Represent CDG at meetings with clients, the public, and other professionals
- Mentor and develop junior staff
Requirements and Qualifications
- Ability to manage and organize multiple project tasks, timelines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to consistently provide excellent client service
- Master's degree in Landscape Architecture
- 8+ years of professional experience in a consulting environment; advanced knowledge of Landscape Architecture principles and practice
- Registration as a Landscape Architect
- Excellent written, oral and visual communication skills
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Proficient knowledge of office productivity tools and software
- Availability for occasional travel
