"As the economic and environmental costs of over-reliance on the private automobile as mode of transport continue to rise, local communities are creating new paradigms for their land use and transportation policies that allow them to better match the changing needs and priorities of their citizens ...
My own personal transition away from the private automobile to the bicycle as primary mode of transport five years ago has improved the quality of my life and led me to dedicate my time and energy to making it possible for others to have this choice available ...
My professional experience and training has exposed me to many examples of communities across the globe that are transforming themselves to allow their citizens more choices to bike and walk"
