Minneapolis is known as one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the nation - but there is still a lot more to do to invite new users from all Twin Cities communities to the system.
As part of the rollout of new bicycle infrastructure projects in locations throughout the Twin Cities, Transit for Livable Communities and Bike Walk Twin Cities funded a communications and marketing project to engage and invite new users to these facilities.
Working closely with four of the most economically, ethnically and culturally diverse neighborhoods in Minneapolis (with a combined population of 23,000 people), CDG developed a placemaking and economic development blueprint offering specific guidance for supporting the revitalization of important neighborhood corridors and commercial nodes.
In 2007, CDG worked closely with Edina residents and staff to develop the city’s first Comprehensive Bicycle Transportation Plan, which continues to guide its infrastructure implementation decisions.
